“But it’s a business lie, it’s not the same as a life lie” April 3, 2009

It’s distressing that Amy Adams’ big break was a in Disney blockbuster, because she’s capable of far more than smiley singalong parts.

Pre- Enchanted, Adams was nominated Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role in Junebug (2005). Despite this, both Adams and Junebug never really got the attention they deserved. I’ve only seen chunks of the film on YouTube, but I’m going to go searching for the full thing this weekend. Can’t seem to download it, so I’ll have to buy it. From a real, like, shop.

Post- Enchanted, Adams stars in Sunshine Cleaning, which is currently on general release in the US.
I hope it makes it over here…otherwise our next Amy Adams fix will be Leap Year sometime in early 2010. Leap Year is being filmed over the next few weeks in Dublin, and stars Adams as a young woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on 29th February (Leap Day). Hmm. Sounds like another Disney-style part. Probably with lots of fake Irish accents, if they’re following the P.S. I Love You formula.

I actually have Junebug lol. But I haven’t watched it yet. LET’S DO IT. And why haven’t I met Amy Adams yet? Please remedy this.
Amy Adams’ performance in ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ is arguably the most amazing thing in a film that is many kinds of amazing.
